Each email is checked against a set of criteria and depending on your chosen filter strength, is determined to be spam or legitimate email. You choose whether the filter adds "SPAM" to the front of suspect emails' subject lines, or deletes the email entirely.

You can then choose to set up a message rule within Outlook Express or many other email programs to delete these messages immediately upon receipt or move them into a separate folder in your inbox for review before deletion.
If you currently have a domain hosted with us that you use for POP3 email accounts you can upgrade individual mailboxes (individual email addresses) to include Spam Filtering and Anti Virus Protection.
